I almost returned to you at the end of my trip to your beautyfull country, but decided last minute to travel directly from Knysna to the airport in Cape Town before returning to Norway. We had a truly memorable stay with you. We will certainly post something complementary on Trip Advisor when we get back to cold and damp England, however ahead of that we would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation for the outstanding levels of customer service you and the staff of River Manor provide.
From the moment we arrived nothing was too much trouble. Every one of the staff really went out of their way to help us. In today’s world where there is so much apathy toward customer service the culture of service excellence at River Manor is exceptional. We adored our time here and it was one of our favourite hotels (out of 8 visited), our room being a particular highlight. We had an excellent meal in Stellenbosch and thoroughly enjoyed our day of wine tasting, all of which was organised very efficiently.

We have been meaning to send you these photographs for such a long time, but somehow never got around to actually doing it. We still genuinely remember the kindness of all your staff who became our friends at River Manor- Marieka, Forencia, Elizia, Justine, Tania, Justin , Liezel, Lenia and everyone else whose names we shan't even attempt to spell! Not to mention your own kindness and generousity which was reflected in your staff and in the family atmosphere in the hotel, making our nightmare time tolerable. We still have find memories of South Africa.

I would like to extend our thanks to you and your team at River Manor for the wonderful stay we enjoyed with you. As you know, our 3 night stay was the perfect start to our holiday, and we chose to make every effort to have our last night in South Africa with you too. We were lucky enough to obtain that last minute booking.
As I discussed with you, I stay in many top class hotels in the UK with my business. There are rarely pleasant experiences, as they are so impersonal, and standards are poor when it comes to service.
The things which made River Manor special to us, were:
1. The lovely surroundings. The rooms and all areas available for guests to sit and relax in, are just perfect. The fires in the evenings are so welcoming in themselves, and the lovely features within the seating areas are beautifully done. We all enjoyed the loggia and the verandah as well.
2. Breakfasts are excellent. We loved the high quality of the buffet foods, which would be suffice in themselves, but River Manor tops that off with cooked breakfast as well.
2. Staff throughout the hotel give an excellent standard of service, without being imposing, always respecting the privacy of guests, but also being attentive with wonderful service. This is a very difficult balance to achieve, however we all commented how River Manor does achieve just that.
3. The advice from yourself and other members of staff regarding restaurants, wineries and sightseeing opportunities was absolutely first class. The detail we were given was quite staggering, and enabled us to maximise our experience during what was really a brief stay in the Stellenbosch area. The places recommended by you and other members of staff really gave us a wonderful experience. So much so, that we all really fell in love with the area and the hotel.
I will be posting a review reflecting our thoughts on Trip Advisor.
In short, we had a wonderful experience with you. Please pass on our thanks to all the staff, and pass on our comments to them, as they are most deserving of high praise.
